a few haiku

Month: May, 2014

still a few leaves–
dog hair
painted into the wall

workmen slide
shingles to the ground
twilight lingers

on the edge of a forest though I tried to avoid it

reading outside
as long as I can
sun on ripe tomatoes

a butterfly above cars going nowhere

before dawn
the sparrow and I
repeating the mantra

a gnat
floats in tequila
night heat

my neighbor’s
perfect goddamn lawn–
short night

a gull drops a crab and
the heat

the season I meet no one on the street the moon
