a few haiku

Month: August, 2014

a leaf hits the office window and fails to fall Wednesday

a map of broken sleep heat steals the rain

Friday evening showing the fly another way

crickets taking notes on each star

high noon she walks back to work on top of the curb

stories we never tell another game about candy

August afternoon I never run out of paper clips

low tide Van Halen pings off the old boys’ beer cans

still August night
staring into the light
from the fridge

a bird gone before I can identify it summer
